Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARICA (BARBARA) MEDVEN In the loving circle of her family Barica left to join her saviour on August 23, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barica is now at peace. Barica was predeceased by her parents, Dragica and Janko Bendekovic; her sisters, Katica and Karmen and Valerija and nephew Dubravko. Left to cherish Barica forever in their hearts is her loving husband Mijo; her son Michael, daughter-in-law Laura and granddaughter Ashley; sister, Marica, brother-in-law Steve and nephews, Dennis and Bryan. She also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters in Croatia, Zlatko (Jelica) Mijo (Dragica) Ljubica (Ivica) and Verica; nephews, Andjelko and Kresimir and niece Karmena (Josip). Barica was born in Medven-Draga, Croatia. She came to Canada in 1962 where she wed her husband Mijo of 42 years. In 1964 she gave birth to their son Michael. She worked for many years with the Creamette Company till she retired in 1992. In 1994 her granddaughter Ashley was born who she loved more than life itself. She loved her family, home, garden, and church and was happiest doing her hobbies of needle points, crocheting, knitting and many other crafts, as well as cooking and baking. She also loved being involved with the church community and activities. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0S8. Prayers will be held on Thursday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Nikolas Tavelich Croatian Church, 2688 Main St., on Friday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. R. A. Glofcheski officiating, interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden. Dear Baka we all love you and will miss you.
