JEAN PROVAN DAVIDSON (nee STEWART) With deep regret and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean Provan Davidson, at the age of 102, peacefully on August 24, 2004. Jean was born June 5, 1902 in Paisley, Scotland and came to Canada with her parents in 1904. Jean was predeceased by her parents Mary and Alex Stewart, her husbands Robert Holms and John Davidson, son Billy Holms, sister Hetty Campbell, and brothers William, Archie & Alex Stewart. Left to mourn are her two sons Stewart (Janet) Holms and Gordon Holms, all of Winnipeg, sister Mabel (Joe) Sibbald of BC, grandchildren, Joanne (Willie) Vielhaber, Tracy (Jeff) Olafson and Glenn Holms, great-grandchildren, Robert & Sean Vielhaber, Matthew & Marlee Olafson. As well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family Gaylene, Brent and Cooper Nemeth. Jean took great joy in being a hard worker and a dedicated volunteer. She was a life member of her church, Gordon-King Memorial United, and volunteered her time to many charities, including the Polio Patients of the 1960s. She was a Past Matron of Jephthah Chapter 22 Order of the Eastern Star, a past leader of the 5th Pack of Cubs & Scouts, founder of the Association of Retarded Children of Manitoba and she loved them all, referring to them as her "very special people". Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home with Reverend Nancy Sanders officiating, as well, there will be a service from the Order of the Eastern Star. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave., R2L 0H4. A special thank you to Linda (her angel) and the staff at the Concordia Hospital for their excellent care. Lifes race well run, Lifes work well done, Lifes crown well won, Now comes rest.
