WALTER PENKOWSKI It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and true friend. After a long courageous battle with cancer God has called him home at the age of 68 years, to suffer no more. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Mike Penkowski and brother Eddie Penkowski. Left to cherish Walter forever in their hearts are his loving wife Pauline, and children, sister Florence (Carl), many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Walter was born at Winnipeg Beach, moved to Winnipeg at the age of 15, where he worked as a mechanic for many years. He spend 19 years as a salesman for Even Spray and Chemicals, where he retired. Walter enjoyed numerous hobbies and was dedicated to helping anyone, anyway he could. Walter was well loved and will be deeply missed by all. The family wishes to thank Dr. Harlos and staff at St. Boniface Palative Care Unit and Dr. Garcia and staff at Riverview Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0S8. Private family service will be held Saturday, August 28. Cremation to follow.
