WILLIAM EDWARD SMITH "SCHMIDT" William Smith passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Beausejour Health Centre. He was born on November 22, 1916 in Green Bay, MB. Bill is survived by his brothers and sisters; Walter and wife Elaine, Beausejour, Herbert and wife Margery, Winnipeg, Albert Schmidt, Beausejour, Lily Smith, Winnipeg, Anne Andrest, Winnipeg and Esther Bachman, Beausejour; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Henry Schmidt in 1961 and Emillie Schmidt in 1995; his brother Harry Schmidt in 1991 and his sister Hilda Tittlemeir in 1991. Bill worked at various jobs - Winnipeg Coke, Moss Plant at Julius, Atomic Energy at Pinawa and at the Beausejour Hospital. Bill took a keen interest in the family farm and enjoyed hunting, fishing and also playing cards at the Beauhead Senior Centre. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour with Pastor Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Green Bay. Friends may view at Sobering Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also prior to the service. Special thanks to Dr. Zeiler and the staff at the Beausejour Health Centre for their wonderful care given to Bill during his stay at the hospital.
