SANDRA GAIL BLACKMON (nee STIMPSON) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Sandy passed away with her sister by her side, on Monday morning, August 30, 2004 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 63 years. She is lovingly survived by her husband Bruce; children, David (Michelle), Melanie Hysop (Rod Hastman) and Michael; grandchildren, Lindy, Heather and Katie Blackmon, Carolyn Hysop and Shawn Trudeau; her mother Hilda; her sister Judy (Jack) Flood; brother-in-law Don (Rose) Blackmon; and by four nephews. A special thank you to Judy, Evelyn, Rose, and Cathy for spending countless hours by her side, you exemplify the love of a true friend. As well, a special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. on Thursday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the Heritage Room. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Endowment Fund, in care of St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Room D1 003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 would be deeply appreciated.
