GERALD JOSEPH MARTEL Suddenly after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 Gerald Martel, beloved husband of Jean Martel of Lac du Bonnet, MB passed away. Besides his loving wife Jean he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Teryl Jerome (Ron) sons, Todd Martel and Mark Martel (Paula Grewinski) and his grandchildren, Jaida, Cyrena, Kara, Damian and Marqus; and his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Kyla. Also surviving are his sisters, Oric (Wesley) and Florida; and a brother Ferdinand; and a sister-in-law Lorna Currie and her family, Jeannine, Carrie, Melissa and Jaida; and sister-in-law Grace Martel. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brothers, Fred, Philip, Leon and Venza. Gerald was a well liked and respected person, his wit and intelligence will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank Dr. Leboldis and Dr. Campbell, the doctors and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, Pinawa Hospital and Beausejour Hospital for the care given to him. A special thanks to Joshua and Jessica for bringing joy into his life. Cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. His cremated remains will be interred in the family plot in Middlebro, MB. If friends so desire memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB or to a charity of ones choice.
