EARLE AIKEN WHITE November 2, 1919 - August 18, 2004 Peacefully on August 18, 2004, Earle White, formerly of Cherry Park Retirement Residence, passed away at Moog and Friends Hospice House, Penticton, BC. Earle was predeceased by his wife Win; sisters, Arlene and Hazel; and brothers, Winston and Lawrence. He will be sadly missed by his second wife Dot; sisters, Merle and Doris; daughters, Heather Jardine (Tony) of Chilliwack, BC, and Marilyn Nasby of Summerland, BC; son Robert of Isaacs Harbour, NS; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Born in Mansonville, QC, Earle attended school in Mansonville and Cowansville. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1940, and flew as Observer/Navigator for the RAF. Flight Lieutenant Earle White was shot down over Holland on June 20, 1942, and spent the remainder of the Second World War in various German Prison Camps, including Stalag Luft III, and managed to survive the "Death March" from that camp in January 1944. He returned to Canada in 1945 with wife Win, and graduated from McGill University in 1950 with a degree in dentistry. Earle practiced dentistry in Saskatchewan and Winnipeg until his retirement to Summerland in 1973 and Penticton in 1996, after the death of his first wife. Cremation has taken place; at his request, no service will be held. A private interment service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
