GARRY NORMAN WINTERS Peacefully, on August 18, 2004 in Victoria BC, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Richmond Pavilion, with his family at his side, after a courageous, year long battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Dauphin, Mb, July 27, 1945, to Edna and Archie Winters, he is survived, by his wife, Barbara; son, Jason; daughter, Leah; mother Edna; brother Trevor (Wendy) Barbaras brothers, Norman (Marlene) and Bud (Margaret) Bellamy; and his nephews and nieces. Garry was a graduate of the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, class of 1968. He was an active and very willing volunteer to many events. Most notable was volunteering to provide dentistry in Guatemala. While there, an Aids hospice, discovered him, and he not only treated every single patient in the hospice, but followed up by arranging for continuous donations of medicines and supplies. A remembrance of Garrys life was held for family and friends on Wednesday, August 25, in Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent "In memory of Garry Winters" to the Leukemia/BMT Program, 855 West 12th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 1M9.
