WILLIAM (BILL) SKEHAR Peacefully, on Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Tudor Personal Care Home, Bill Skehar, aged 85 years of East Selkirk. Bill was born on May 11, 1919 in Holland, MB. He served overseas in the Second World War on C Squadron, 18th Manitoba Armored Car Regiment. Following the war Bill worked at various jobs, retiring from Abex after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing cribbage with the boys and took great pride in his yard and garden. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine in 1992; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Couture and Eric Hjartarson. He is survived by his daughter Joyce; brother-in-law Donovan Couture; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hjartarson and Doris Couture and all of the Mytz family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. also in the chapel. Interment will follow in the East Selkirk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bills memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
