MIKE WALCHUK On Wednesday, September 8, 2004, Mike Walchuk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 74 years. Besides his wife Elsie; Mike is survived by two daughters, Valerie (Manuel) Lugilde and Jackie (Tim) Motuz; three sons, Michael (Darlene), Daniel (Iris) and Terry (Carmen) eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his passing his brothers, Alex, Nick; and sisters, Ann Mary and Caroline. Mike was predeceased by his parents, one sister and five brothers. Mike was born in Sheho SK, October 5, 1929, son of Sam and Lena Walchuk. Mike and Elsie were married for 53 years. They resided in Sheho, farming and raising a family until 1968, when they moved to Winnipeg. Mike then worked for Northstar Maintenance until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, Dad and Mom stayed home and enjoyed watching their children grow. Dad will be sorely missed by all. Prayers will be held on Sunday, September 12, at 7:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m., prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Julie Collings officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
