MARY VENGER Mary Venger passed away September 5, 2004 at the age of 92 with her daughters by her side. Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, Steve and Peter; her parents, Anastasia and Lucas Lasch; her husband Adolph and her mother-in-law Nellie Johnson. Mary is survived by two daughters, Audrey (Art) and Gaylene (Arthur) four grandchildren, Karla (Ed Dallow), Konrad (Debbie), Kristjon and John (Candace) six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Joelle, Serena, Justine, Ashlyn and Kevin. Mary had a rich and varied life. Born and raised in Winnipeg, her first teaching assignment took her to Pulp River where she taught at Asquith. She married Adolph Venger and lived in Pine River till she moved back to Winnipeg in 1990. Her teaching career of 27 years was a very important part of her life and she continued to be interested in the lives of her former students over the years. Mary was also active in the Credit Union along with her husband Adolph, the United Church Ladies Auxiliary where she served on many committees. She conducted a ladies choir for many years and one of their highlights was to sing at the Dauphin Annual Festival. Her great love was her flower garden and many floral arrangements at grade XII graduations and weddings came from moms garden. The family would like to give thanks to the doctors at H.F.N.H. for their care of Mary during the past ten years. We are greatly appreciative of the kind and gentle care by the staff of the 4th floor at H.F.N.H. Special thanks to Maria and Sister Monica for their prayers. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. in Pine River on September 13 in the United Church.
