JOHN (JOCK) REID January 13, 1924 - September 9, 2004 Surrounded by his family, Jock passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 80 years. Jock is survived by daughters Marilyn (Dave Kasper) and Barbara (David Morrison) grandchildren Kris, Kurt, Caitlin and Josh; his brothers Walter (Betty) and Gord (Joan) sister Bunty; brother-in-law Don; sisters-in-law Anne and May; many nieces and nephews and also his dog and best friend Max. Jock was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years Marge; sister Nessie; brother Tommy; brothers-in-law Earl, Keith and Tom and sister-in-law Eleanor. Jock was born in Harding, MB. As a young man he served with the air force making sure the boys were always fed. Jock was a member of the Cameron Pipe Band for many years. He loved the bagpipes and was proud of his Scottish heritage. Jock made his living as a butcher. This brought him to work in Swan River where he met Marge. A few years after they were married, a job prospect brought them to Winnipeg where they both resided until their passing. The family would like to thank the staff of N2 West and N3 East at Concordia Hospital for all their care and compassion while looking after our dad. A special thank you to Cheryl, Mark, Sara and Jonathan Derry for always being there. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 13 from 7:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m also at the chapel with Rev. Glenn Morison officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jocks memory to the Humane Society or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
