ALICE DIANE WAGNER Peacefully, on September 10, 2004 in Selkirk General Hospital, Diane Wagner (nee Fidler) passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Bernie; sons, Chris and Mark (Andrea) grandchildren, Megan and Owen; her mother Alice Fidler; her brother Albert; her sisters, Sheri Crighton, Connie (Marcel) Weinmeier, Janice (Bob) Sims and mother-in-law Mally Wagner. She is also survived by brother-in-law Rainer (Gladys) sisters-in-law, Karin Shaw and Ange (Leo) Zabor; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Albert Fidler and by her father-in-law Adolf Wagner. Diane was born in Selkirk on July 9, 1949. She was employed by the Provincial Highways Department for several years before joining BDO Dunwoody (Sill and Co.) where she worked as an accountant for 25 years. She married Bernie in September 1967 and they shared 37 wonderful years together. Diane was a very loving wife and devoted mother who always considered others before herself. She was active in her community through various organizations such as Kinettes and was always ready to volunteer - especially through her childrens activities. She enjoyed reading, time with her family including some very memorable summer holidays and nature. Later in life, she found comfort in the little things - trips to the tea gardens, walks in the park, her backyard oasis full of plants and birds, and "smelling the flowers". She was also very proud of her grandchildren and leaves behind many special memories of her short but precious time with them. She will be sadly missed. The family extends a warm thanks to all those whose support and love eased Dianes burden, and lifted her spirits during her struggle. A special thank-you to Corrie Corrigal, Elaine McAfee, Connie Magnusson-Schimnowski, Dr. Demsas and the nurses and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion. A celebration of Dianes life will be held Tuesday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6088 PTH 9A, Selkirk, MB with Pastor David Saude officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
