MARY BRUCE After a lengthy battle with diabetes we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary Bruce. Mom was born in Manigotogan on March 24, 1930 and resided there until she met and married Tom Bruce in 1948. In their early years they lived in Loon Straits, eventually settling in Pine Dock where they raised their eight children. Mom was famous for her home baked goods and delicious meals. Moms favourite pastimes were playing cards, going to bingo and having tea with friends. She was predeceased by her husband Tom; mother and father, Margaret and Louis Simard; sisters, Edna and Minnie; brothers, Alex, Richard and Garnett. Mom leaves to mourn her eight children, Earl (Sharon), Wally, Brenda (Jeff), Kevin (Corinna), Curtis (Una), Nick, Terry (Tamara), Louie (Shelley) 14 grandchildren, James, Pam, Janine, April, Clarine, Chrissy, Trin, K.C., Sharmaine, Caratess, Shyanne, Raine, Talon and Alex; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice (Henry) and Barbara (Charlie) a brother Louis (Adale) and numerous nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pine Dock Community Hall with Pastor Neill von Gunten officiating. Pallbearers will be sons, Earl, Wally, Curtis, Nick, Terry and Louie. Honorary pallbearers will be son Kevin and grandsons, James, Trin and K.C. Peacefully sleeping, resting at last. Her weary pains and trials are passed. In silence she suffered, in patience she bore, Till God called her home to suffer no more. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
