FREDA McDONALD On Thursday, September 9, 2004, Freda passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Winnipeg. She was 71 years of age. Freda will be sadly missed by her partner Nelson Marchant, her two sons, Milt (Pat) and Glen (Karen) and her four grandchildren Scott and Kristin and Taylor and Laura. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sister Mildred, and four brothers, Ernie (Barbara), Garth (Abby), Fred (Carol) and Brian (Judy) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Freda was born in Carmen, Manitoba on March 15, 1933 and spent most of her life in St. Vital. She enjoyed working for her brother at Caprice Distributors and eventually retired from Black and McDonald in Winnipeg. She was happiest when organizing a dinner for her family and friends. Freda was a warm and compassionate person who loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and friends. She will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface hospital for their care, kindness and compassion for Freda and her family. A special thanks to Catherine and Edith of the PCU for their care and comfort given to Freda and her family during her final hours. Cremation has taken place. According to her wishes a private interment for the family will be held at the graveside at St. Vital cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital in memory of Freda.
