Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA LOUISE SLATOR (nee JUTRAS) Peacefully, quietly and calm, Rita Louise Slator (nee Jutras), just 59, beloved wife of Harry Austin Reece, and loving mother of David and Mark Slator, left for home at 12:10 a.m., Friday morning, September 10, 2004. Also mourning her early departure are two grandchildren, Tessa and Matthew Beech; her sisters, Jocelyn (Don Addison), Susan (Shell McMullen) and Claire (Gordon Towerzey) her nieces, Michelle (Snyder) and Tara (McMullen) and cousins and other family members in Manitoba and in Trinidad, WI. Rita was predeceased by her father Alexandre Jutras ( 1983) and her mother, Cora Jutras (2003). Rita was born in Letellier, MB and grew up in Winnipeg and Churchill. She subsequently attended University of Manitoba (B.Sc.), then attended Red River College (diploma in Chemical Technology), then again with the University of Manitoba (M.Ed.) and finally started her Ph.D with Nova University (incomplete). She was employed by the N.RC in Churchill, and thereafter as a research assistant in the department of Agriculture of the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, then as an instructor at Red River College in the Chemical Technology Department, then as an instructor in the Health Department in Brandon, and lastly by the Inter University North to teach the transition year nursing students from Norway House, Thompson, The Pas and other relevant Northern communities. We will always remember you ----- your love, your integrity, your patience and your caring nature. Ritas funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Ritas family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for the always present professional care, patient understanding, compassion and forbearance extended to Rita and her family during the very trying period of her illness. Our dependance on the always timely response, courtesy and professionalism of the emergency services is gratefully acknowledged. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation may do so to the charity of their choice.
