EUNICE ALICE KNOX (nee WOOD) March 14,1921 - September 10,2004 Peacefully on September 10, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre, Eunice Knox of Miami, MB. Eunice will be sadly missed by her husband, George; her seven children, Huntley (Nancy), Jim (Merle), Janette Moody (Martin), Ted (Fran), Andrew (Joann), Garry (Claudine), and Barb Rankin (Jim) her grandchildren, Allan, Dale and Heather, Shawn (Jackie), Theresa and Curtis, Jennifer and Scott, Angela (Dustin), Pam (Marc) and Greg, Steven, Samantha and David, Janet and Sarah; and her five great-grandchildren, Logan, Brett, Cagney, Rachel and Ryan. Also her sister Jean Janick; sisters-in-law, Betty Sandercock, Mae Marlow, Clara Wood, and Dorothy Wood; and brothers-in-law, Edgar Sandercock and George Marlow; numerous nieces and nephews and so many friends. Eunice was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Edith Wood; her brothers, Arnold and Earl. In 1941 Eunice graduated from Normal School and went to teach in Mulvihill, Rosebank and Miami. In her 17 years of dedication in the teaching profession she touched the lives of many and upon retirement continued her ongoing efforts to support education. Her love of community, strong commitment to family and appreciation for life is the legacy she leaves behind. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Miami Community Centre with Rev. Marg Janick-Grayston and Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Private interment will take place in the Miami cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eunices memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or a charity of ones choice.
