MARGARET (PEGGY) LINDQUIST September 20, 1919 - September 11, 2004 Surrounded by the love of her family and friends, our mom passed away peacefully with amazing dignity at the Grace Hospice on Saturday, September 11, 2004. Peggy was born in England and came to Canada with her parents at an early age. She met Paul and married him in 1946. They lived in St. James where they raised their three children. Mom enjoyed her part-time work at The Bay, Breslauer & Warren and Sears in their china departments. She valued the friendships she made over the 40 years spent with Beauty Counsellors. Mom was a long standing member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. She was involved in many aspects of church life. Her strong faith was her guiding light. She was blessed with many friends who meant the world to her and found good in everyone. She had many interests. She loved her years of volunteer work at the Grace Hospital, as well as her knitting and crocheting, crafts, music, baking, Bridge and travelling. She was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1980, first husband Donald Henderson in 1942, her parents and her in-laws. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara; daughter Karen (Al) Sansom and granddaughter Erin; son Gary and grandsons, Adam and Colin; sister Barbara (Jim) Cochrane; sister Dorothy (Bob) Davies. She is also survived by her in-laws, Evie Lindquist, Mark and Shirley Lindquist and numerous nieces and nephews who meant so much to her. Also cherishing her memory is her special friend and companion, Clare. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all our family and friends for their love and support during this most difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. P. Harris and the staff at CancerCare as well as the doctors and nurses who took such good care of mom at the Grace Hospital. Our love and thanks to the fabulous staff of the Grace Hospice who let mom live out her last days with care, comfort and dignity. Words cannot express our gratitude and love to Gladys who was moms earth-angel. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede, 99 Turner Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggys memory may be made to the Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede, 99 Turner Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 2S9 or to the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5.
