JOSEPH McCARTHY Peacefully, on August 23, 2004, in Boston, MA., Joe, formerly of Winnipeg, beloved son of the late Daniel Joseph McCarthy and Margaret Mary (Cronin) McCarthy, passed away. Joe was predeceased by his brothers Larry (Ella) and Jerry (Anna) and leaves to mourn his passing his brothers Dan (Mary) and Ed (Gail) sisters Rosaleen (Bill), Sheila and Maureen (Peter) as well as 21 nieces and nephews and their families. Joe attended St. Anns School and St. Pauls High School and College and worked in Winnipeg and Montreal. He served with the Air Force for five years, being stationed in Montreal and Metz, France before emigrating to the United States where he resided in New York and Boston, holding positions as a draftsman until his retirement in Boston. Joes family offers sincere thanks to Joes dear friends Bill and wife Mary in Boston for their caring and support. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston on Friday, August 27, Father Frank McHugh presiding. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Anns Church, 271 Hampton Street, on Friday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m., Father Robert Polz presiding. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Assumption Section. Should friends so desire contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
