TUNGILIK July 29, 1981 - September 11, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Clifford Irkootee Tungilik at the age of 23 with his family by his side. He was pre-deceased by his younger sister Rolanda. He will be lovingly remembered by his family in Repulse Bay, Nunavut, mother and father, Louise and Roland Tungilik; sisters, Shannon and Harry (Rolanda, Harry Jr.), Sharon and Ronnie (Nattirq) brother Roland Jr. and Nelly (Cody and Theresa Marie) sister Louisa; brother Joey; and sister Lee-Anne (whom he named). Clifford also has an extended family in Winnipeg whom he lived with for the past 17 years. He will be greatly missed by his foster mom, Gloria Penner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith, Steve and Jackie (Danielle, Marcel, Monique, Ben, Colton), Al and Lisa (Jaiden, Alana), Bruce; and sisters, Shirley, Polly and Billy-Joe; special friends, Kathy Naslund and Erna, Candace, and Debbie Stevenson. Clifford was very fortunate to have his younger brother, Joey, from Repulse Bay growing up with him in the same home in Winnipeg. These two brothers were very close and Joey will miss him very much. Clifford was born on July 29, 1981 and he was very proud that he shared that day with the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Clifford was born with a health condition that necessitated him being admitted for long periods of time to St. Boniface Hospital, Childrens Hospital in London, ON and in Winnipeg, and most recently GD 4 and Intensive Care at the Health Sciences Centre. The family would like to thank all of the nurses, doctors and hospital staff for taking care of Clifford over the short 23 years of his life. Their help, support and encouragement mean a lot to the family. Clifford attended Emerson Elementary School, Chief Peguis Junior High and Miles MacDonnell Collegiate. Most recently he enjoyed working at Waso Inc., where he made many friends. The family invites you to a memorial gathering on Friday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Interment to take place in Repulse Bay, Nunavut.
