Date of Passing: Sep 13, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETTY FLORENCE MAUD HORN Peacefully, on Monday, September 13, 2004, at the Grace General Hospital, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Betty Horn at the age of 79 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her cousins, Robert Mackay (Bette), Donald Mackay (Nellie), Lucy Lindall and Violet Robinson; and her very close friends, Richard and Joni Orr. Betty was predeceased by her mother Lucy Marie; father Robert James and her sister Doris (Do) Horn. Betty worked at Fraser Art Supplies for over 40 years where she managed the store for many years. She loved her job so much that if her health allowed, she would still be working there today. Betty was also quite an artist with her pastel and pencil paintings. Betty and Doris loved nothing better than watching television till all hours of the night along with their old movies. Everyone who knew Betty will remember her as a giving and generous person who lived her life through kindness and charity. Betty always put a smile on everyones face when you met her. Though her health was failing in the last few years of her life, Betty never complained and was always interested in what others were doing. She would always say "theres always someone worse off than me." In accordance with Bettys wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. On behalf of Betty, the family would like to thank all the staff at Heritage Lodge for their personal care and friendship over the last three years. At Heritage Lodge everyone came to love Betty and enjoyed her friendship immensely. Thanks to all her special friends for their regular visits which she enjoyed so much. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Bettys memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. "You will be sorely missed - We love you and you will Always be in our hearts. Thanks for the wonderful friendship Betty." Richard and Joni Orr.
