Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH ELVIRA JOHNSON 1911 - 2004 Edith Johnson passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2004 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Ellen Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Tom Holmes; brothers, Ted Johnson and Allan Johnson; and nephew Leonard Johnson. Edith was born in Minnedosa, MB. As a child she attended Hazelwood School. She was an active member of the Smoland Covenant Church where she played both piano and organ. Edith was a talented seamstress and worked for some time for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. She then completed the licensed practical nursing program. She made her home in Winnipeg and worked in various nursing positions until her retirement. Edith enjoyed family and friends. She enjoyed travelling and entertaining. She was an independent woman who enjoyed life. She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Mabel Johnson and Marie Johnson; four nieces and their families, Margaret (Eldon) Kaufman, Norma (Roger) Huston, Ellen (Tony) Enns, and Ann (Al) Taylor; as well as other friends and relatives. A memorial service to celebrate Ediths life will be held Friday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Rev. Brian Stiller presiding. An interment service will follow at Minnedosa Smoland Cemetery at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Dan Pearson presiding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ediths memory to a charity of your choice.
