ANTHONY KETTLER 1920 - 2004 Tony passed away peacefully on September 14, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret; his sons, Anthony (Janine) and Jack (Frances) and his beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Evan, Kirsten and George. Tony was born in Austria, Hungary in 1920. He travelled to South America with his family as a small boy, and grew up in Uruguay and Argentina. Later travels took him to France and Germany as a young man, before immigrating to Canada in 1951. His working life was full, retiring in 1979 as a Superintendent after 45 years in the construction industry. Tonys private life was rich, enjoying many overseas travels with his wife Margaret. He gave to the community through his association with the North Winnipeg Charitable Club and as a Director of the North Winnipeg YMCA. Fellowship of the St. Johns Sportsmens Club (sick chairman), the St. Hubertus Game and Fish Association, the Canadian German Society, and the Senior Achievers Club (Director) were a source of great pleasure. Tony spent many hours boating and fishing in the Whiteshell, and hunting across Manitoba with friends. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons George and Evan, and friends F. Iwanus, A. Ruff, B. De Montigny, and B. McLellan. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthonys memory to The Seven Oaks General Hospital. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
