Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRANDALL RALPH OTTO Suddenly on September 13, 2004 at the age of 42, Randy was taken from us. Randy was born in Winnipeg on September 19, 1961. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 20 years Kim; daughters, Carly (Bud), Kristy (Bip) and the dude Cody. He loved us with all his heart and was so proud of us all! Kids remember his "love you guys", plentiful hugs and kisses and remember to never be scared to say "love you" just as Dad did!! He also leaves to mourn his parents, Ralph and Evelyn Otto and Alfred and Marion Howse. Brothers, Hal (Lisa and Joel), Jeffery (son Brendan and Michelle) and Clifford. Brother-in-law Craig (Nancy, Kyle, Brendan and Jared) Howse; sister-in-law Kerri (Mike, Jacob and Katelyn) Szmon. Grandparents Helena Holtz and Lyle Lang. As well many aunts, uncles and cousins. Special friends, Rick, Loretta, Dayne and Morgan Tritthart, Dan and Colleen Mulvena and family, Tony and Claudette Paulson and family. Randy was predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Justina Otto, Adolph Holtz. Randy was raised in the Ashern area and attended school in Ashern, graduating from Grade 12 in 1980. Randy and his brothers were close and spent many hours reliving their youth and all the fun they had spooking through the bushes. In 1981 he began the first phase of his working career with the Department of Highways and Transportation in Ashern. In 1983 he met the love of his life, Kim Howse. Randy and Kim were married on April 28, 1984 in one of the largest snow storms in history! After the birth of their three children, Randy, wanting more for his family, pursued a career in long haul trucking which lasted one year. He couldnt bear to be away from his family, so he came home and back to his job at the Highways Department. In April 1999, Randy and Kim purchased Du-Rite Septic Services and owned and operated it until his passing. Owning their own business and working together was a dream come true and Randy loved every minute of it, as well as the people he met along the way. Randys hobbies included hunting and surfing the net. He spent many hours playing Diablo with his brother Jeff on the net. Randy also enjoyed a good hunt and had taught his wife and all his children to target shoot and how to be responsible gun handlers, he loved nothing more than burning off a few rounds with the kids. Randy had few true loves in his life, his wife and kids (family), his Harley, his Mac and a good shot of J.D. The family enjoyed many happy summers at the lake. When Randy was around there were no "sickly fires"! He enjoyed going for a boat ride on the lake and especially the camping weekends on the island with the Trittharts and could be heard saying "it doesnt get any better than this!!" In April of this year Randy purchased his dream bike, a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster. Although the summer was wet he took every opportunity to "ride his bike". He loved nothing more than to have Kim as passenger. You couldnt wipe the grin off his face when he was riding his hog! We will always remember Randys colourful use of the English language! His amusing stories, interesting sense of humour and his opinionated outlook on life will be greatly missed. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Funeral service will be on Friday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ashern Centennial Hall with Rev. Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Col Clough Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Tritthart, Tony Paulson, Dan Mulvena, Neil Thage, Rick Postlethwaite and Frank Plohman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund for the kids education at the Eriksdale Credit Union Ltd. arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD. Ashern-Lundar (204) 768-2072
