JIM BRONSON August 7, 1917 - September 14, 2004 Jim was born in Rainy River, ON while actually living in Williams, MN, then grew up in Winnipeg, enjoying hockey and coaching in St. Vital. He served in the military 1940 to 1945 and was many years in Legion, executive president and past president. Jim was also a member of the Odd Fellows, Samaritans and was involved in Low Cost Housing Development. Jim married Agnes Maud Currie on July 19, 1943. Jim and Agnes moved to Killarney in 1945 doing carpentry business then started Bronson Brothers Lumberyard with his brother Ray in 1946. He did construction and lumberyard work until retirement in 1975. Jim and Agnes enjoyed 22 years travelling throughout the U.S.A. and winters in Mesa, AZ. Woodworking, golfing and many friends in the carpentry shop were the way of life. He also enjoyed boating. Jim is predeceased by four brothers and a sister Maizelle. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Agnes; children, Maizelle (Ralph), Jamey (Liz), Rick (Judy) grandchildren, Craig, Chris (Dana), Jackie, Diane (Steve), Brent and great-grandchildren, Brynn and Grunnar and Cassie. Memorial service was held at Wheatland Chapel in Killarney on Friday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. with Royal Canadian Legion honours. Preceded by a private family interment at the Killarney Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Diabetic Association. Killarney Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
