Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryW. WAYNE OPENSHAW W. Wayne Openshaw was born November 17, 1941 in Winnipeg, MB, Canada to William and Gladys Openshaw. This wonderful servant of Christ was called home on September 5, 2004. He spent most days making sure he had done all he could to bring more into the safe arms of God. Uncle Al, you were on his mind to the very end. Wayne is survived by his wife, Gwenylen. Son, Alan and his wife, Megan. Grandchildren, RJ, Jessica, Danielle, Cassandra and Ethan. Mother Gladys Timmerman. Sister Barbara and husband, Alan Brose and their sons, Colby, Jeff and Brian. Sister Judy Flamin and sons Sean and Philip. He was preceded in death by father William Openshaw. Wayne went to trade school in Winnipeg to become a machinist, upon completion he went to work for Bristol Aerospace. He was then recruited by Boeing of Seattle in the late 1960s. Shortly after moving to Seattle he met his wife Gwen at the Salvation Army Temple Corp. They were married on March 30, 1968. On December 12, 1969, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Alan. In 1976, they purchased property in Mason County at Lake Cushman, when a wrong turn led to the discovery of Certified Manufacturing and the town of Shelton where they spent the next 28 years. He purchased a cruising boat in 1980. This became his favourite pastime and a treasure to share with friends. In 1985, he returned to Boeing in Auburn and then Everett. During this time he was sent to Winnipeg and Korea each for several months. He never tired of travelling or meeting new people. While in Shelton he attended the Nazarene Church. He was the song leader, teen director, mens breakfast leader, and general servant of Christ. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shelton Nazarene Church 1331 Shelton Springs Rd.
