LILLIAN DOWNES Peacefully, with her family by her side, Lillian Marguerite passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Lillians positive outlook on life and lovely singing will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her daughters, Wendy and Lorraine Diggle and her grandson Jonathan Diggle. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years in 1999. Lillian was a gentle soul who enjoyed life. Her love of literature from an early age continued all her life. She was an active member of the Canadian Authors Society, the Manitoba Penhandlers Group and the Manitoba Naturalists Society. Lillians love of nature was evident in the stories and poetry she wrote. Victoria Beach held a special place in her heart and Lillian spent many enjoyable summers with her family at their "Seventh Heaven." Special thanks is extended to the staff, especially the 5th floor at Poseidon Care Centre for the care, compassion and love our mother was shown. At Lillians request there will be no service. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. I first met Lillian in 2003. Every time I saw her she would sing "you are my sunshine" and she was a wonderful and very memorable woman to me. Even till now I think of her every so often. - Posted by: Leanne (Unknown) on: Jan 21, 2015
