WILLIAM "BILL" HEIN The family of William (Bill) Hein is saddened to announce his passing the morning of Thursday, September 16, 2004, a beautiful sunny morning to welcome a beautiful soul to heaven. Bill was 90 years of age and a great man who brought joy and love to those around him and was loved by many who knew him. Remaining to cherish his memory is his wife, Erna of 64 years less one month of marriage. Bill dearly loved his daughters and their husbands, Jean (Al), Sharon (Herman) and Barb (Don). He was a wonderful father and his girls loved him and will miss him so much. Bill will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Sharon (Stacy), Allison (Bruce), Jonathan (Bonnie), Jennifer (Dan), Melanie and Matthew (Krista) great-grandchildren, Samantha, William, Cody, Noelle, Connor, Brie-Lynn, Sydney and Carter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He left us all a wonderful legacy; how to be strong and how to share love despite all obstacles. Bill was born March 25, 1914 in Jerschen, Vladimir in U.S.S.R. At age two, with his parents, Johann and Louise and brother, Herman, he moved back to Germany and lived there 10 years before immigrating to Canada and the Brunkild area. He married Erna Kihn in 1940 and they farmed south of Brunkild for almost 50 years. Bill was always ready to help family and friends. His passions were farming, fishing, playing cards, working at Golden Plains, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and spending time with friends and family. Bill loved watching wrestling. He was especially dedicated to counting pennies from the Childrens Hospital Teddy Boxes and counted over $20,000 in coins over the years. A Celebration of Bills Life will be held on Monday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 637 Buckingham Rd. with Pastors Lanny Knutson and Leon Gilbertson officiating. Interment will follow in Leabank Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bills six grandchildren. Our family would like to thank all the friends and family who supported them through this very difficult time. We are also very grateful to the staff and volunteers at Grace Hospice, who helped to make Dad/Grandpa and us, his family, as comfortable as possible. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Bills memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Brunkild, MB, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 637 Buckingham Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3R 1B9 or to a charity of ones choice. "Thank you Dad and Grandpa For everything you did for us. We are better people because of you and We will never forget you. Ever. You are our hero."
