BERNARD "BARNEY" LEVEQUE
Date of Passing: Sep 17, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD "BARNEY" LEVEQUE It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Barney on September 17, 2004 at the age of 75 years. Barney leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Yvette, son Richard, daughter Leanne (Ray Bouchard) and brother Claude (Louise). He was predeceased by his parents Henri and Marie-Louise Leveque; and siblings, Maurice, Terry and Raymond "Kit". Barney was born and raised in St. Boniface. He was a sports enthusiast. He played hockey and was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman. Barney would often be seen sitting in his rocking chair, watching three TVs at once, each carrying a different sports game. After retiring from Stony Mountain Penitentiary, Barney, Yvette and Rick moved to Saskatoon until August of last year, when they decided to move back to Winnipeg. Always a workingman, he was employed at Adesa which he enjoyed immensely. He spent many weekends on Black Sturgeon Lake in Kenora. If he was not golfing or fishing with Ray, you could find him sitting in the gazebo with a "Bud" in one hand and a cigar in the other, simply enjoying the view. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Grace General Hospital for their care and compassion. Thanks to the boys from Adesa and to his "fishing buddy" Ray. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Marys Rd. with Fr. Renato Pasinato officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christ the King Memorial Fund, 847 St. Marys Rd. Winnipeg. MB, R2M 3P6.
