PETER STANLEY CHAIKOWSKY (CHESTER) On Saturday, September 18, 2004, surrounded by his family, Peter passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 5, 1915 to Gregory and Anna Chaikowsky. In due course, he completed his education by graduating from Grade 12 at St. Johns High School. Peter is survived by son Ted; daughter Pat Lewak (Jack) grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathon; sister Jean Daniuk; brother-in-law Andre Loyer; sister-in-law Olga Chaikowski; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; loving wife Jean (nee Dynkavitch) brothers, Steve, Frank, Michael, Walter, John; and sister Olga. As a proud owner and operator of Acme Venetian Blind, Peter had many interests, including bowling with Canadian Legion Branch 141, ballroom dancing and playing cards. His proudest achievements can be seen in his woodworking with which he won numerous prizes at the Red River Ex. Peter had many and varied interests, principally his love of fine arts. He had a deep appreciation for Ukrainian culture and music, and of finely crafted furniture. In his time, he had taken up canoe making, wine making, cooking and kite making. More recently, he had a passion for doing crossword puzzles. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 24 also at the Chapel. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. N. Hechtenthal for his care and patience and to the staffs in Emergency and on the 5th Floor, U7 at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
