HELENE CLEMENT Helene (nee Hebert) died at 82 years of age at the Morris General Hospital. She was born June 26, 1922 and lived in Aubigny. In 1947 she married Denis E. Clement and moved to the farm east of Morris. They were married 53 years. In June 1997 they moved into town due to Denis failing health. She was predeceased by Denis in January 2000, her father and mother, an infant son Reynald in 1964, and son-in-law John MacKenzie in 1982. She leaves to mourn her four daughters, Marguerite of Kelowna, Diane and Roger Descoteaux of St. Norbert, Monique of St. Vital, and Suzanne of St. Jean Baptiste; five grandchildren, Rheal and Nicole Descoteaux, Helen Clement, Anita and Patrick Berard; and great-granddaughter Mercedes (Berard, McKay). Also surviving are her brother Laurent Hebert of St. Boniface and her devoted sister Alice Clement of Morris; six nieces and nephews; and five grandnieces and grandnephews. Mom was a great listener throughout our lives and was very devoted to her family. She was a very loving, caring and generous person. She always had lots of hugs and kisses for us. Mom was very determined, strong-willed, and stubborn at times, and these qualities were what got her through a lot of difficult times in her life; that and her faith in God. She loved working outside and did so at her husbands side. Mom could be so funny and witty. It made her so easy to care for and to love. Due to failing health, she moved to the Red River Valley Lodge in December 2003, where she thrived, made new friends, and enjoyed playing Bingo for the first time in her life, with help from her sister Alice who visited every day. She also enjoyed other activities at the Lodge; things she didnt have time to do since she was too busy on the farm. She was very appreciative of the care at the Lodge and the hospital. We would like to thank Dr. Michael Fraser, Dr. Bob Manness, and all the nurses for the extra care, devotion and compassion given to our mother while in the hospital. We would also like to say thank you to R.R.V.L. staff for making Moms last 10 months easier for her. She enjoyed the people who cared for her so well. And, thank you to labbe G. Damphousse of Morris and labbe C. Fillion of St. Jean Baptiste for their visits to Mom at the hospital and R.R.V.L. Donations may be made to the Morris General Hospital Palliative Care Program. There will be viewing and prayers at Morris Funeral Home today (Monday) at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Maurice Roman Catholic Church in Morris on Tuesday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m. Following cremation, interment will take place in the Morris Cemetery.
