LEE HOY CHOY Peacefully on September 21, 2004, with her son, daughter and daughter-in-law by her side. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lun-You and grandson Fred Lun-Fai. She will be sadly missed by her son, Ben Wing-Chak and his wife So Sheung; their sons, Bob and Dan, daughters-in-law, Julie and Lyne; and grandchildren, Nicole, Christian, Alexander, Melissa, Jeremy, Jasmyne and Mackenzie; and her daughter Shirley Sin Yuen and grandson Nicholas. Born in the village of Wah-On in China, June 15, 1908. Emigrated to Canada with her daughter to join her husband and son in Saskatchewan. Settled in Winnipeg in 1957 and ran the family Hong Kong Restaurant with her husband until his retirement in 1965. She was known best for her generous spirit, humanitarian outlook, and love of children. She always led an active social life, and everyone who met her came away with a lasting impression of her goodness and nobility. The family would like to thank Oakview Extendicare, particularly Dr. Gregg and all the nurses, aides and staff for their devotion and compassionate care. Thanks also to the many friends and relations who were so supportive in this most difficult time. Viewing will be held Sunday, September 26 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, September 27 at Noon; both at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In her memory, the family will disburse funds to selected charities. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lee Hoy Choy Trust Fund at Astra Credit Union, 1907 Portage Ave. In addition, a tree will be planted in her honour in the village of her birth.
