Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA GLORIA de SOUSA April 15, 1918 - September 23, 2004 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Maria passed away on September 23, 2004 at the Calvary Place. Maria leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Lurdes (Vasco) Andrade, Fatima (Gilberto) Ribeiro of CA, Maria Jose (Michael) Leschyshyn and Esmeralda; her grandchildren, Vasco, Carlos, Rui, Peter, Elizabeth, Robert, Renata, Derek and Jason and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Manuel in 1986. Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Acores. Mom was a devoted wife and mother. She was very hard working and her favourite pastimes were crocheting and reading. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor, south wing of Calvary Place for all their compassion and care. Prayers will be said on Friday, September 24 at 5:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros as celebrant. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
