WALTER MORRIS 1937 - 2004 Walter, aged 67 of Comox, passed away suddenly in Victoria on Sunday, September 19, 2004. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his beloved "Barbsie"; daughter Victoria; sons, Paul and Mark (Jocelyn) sisters and brothers, Barbara (Jack), Betty, Tom (Elaine), Bob (Susane), Cathy (Bruce) his sister-in-law Fran (Gord), his uncle, aunts, cousins, his many nieces and nephews as well as his best friend David Stanley. Walter served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 33 years, first as a Navy Pilot, then with the Air Force. Following his retirement, he became very active in his community, working at the local cable TV channel, volunteering in the computer club at the Extended Care Unit of St. Josephs Hospital and at the Comox Valley Boys and Girls Club. He loved to sing, and enjoyed all the productions he was in for the Co-Val singers. He sang with both Jazz Noire and the Sounds of Seventeen. He was a member of the church choir at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, CFB Comox. He will be warmly remembered as one who was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Walter was truly "Bigger Than Life". Prayers will be offered from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN RD. on Friday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, CFB Comox, with Fr. John Edmonds, celebrant. Should friends wish, donations in his memory, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, BC V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
