Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED ELIZABETH ANN SILVESTER (nee CLARK) With the deepest sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mildred Silvester, at Deer Lode Centre 6th floor East. The Lord took her home on Thursday, September 23, 2004, and she no longer suffers the pains of her earthly body. She is at peace now. Mildred has gone to be with her parents, George and Elizabeth Clark; her brother Randle Clark; her brother-in-law Ernie Fix; her nephew Georgie Fix; and her first born son Sidney, whom she missed dearly. Left to mourn and cherish her life are her husband of 55 years, Thomas; her daughter Donna Harrison; her sons, Greg (Jan) and Hal (Shirley) her 12 grandchildren, Sherianne Harrison, Melanie (Ron) Meilleur, Eric (partner Renee), Ambber (partner Ryan), Wayne, Gordon, Amanda, Samantha, Andrew, Karl, Hollie and Kira; her six great-grandchildren (particularly Thomas and Alia who knew their Nana was special) and her sisters, Gayle Fix and Faye (Jim) Wagner. Mum was born on July 10, 1929 in Winnipeg. Her family moved to St. John, New Brunswick for a period of time. They returned to Winnipeg when Mum was still young. She attended Daniel MacIntyre, where she made many lifelong friends, including Mildred Fierce, Shirley Williams and Lillian Tomasson. Mum was very active in the community. She was a member of the IODE, Scouts Canada and the BP Guild, IOF, and Winnipeg Wandering Wheels RV Club. Mums career was her family. She married the love of her life, Thomas, on December 31, 1948. They raised their four children together; but, Mum was always the one we turned to in times of trouble. She was always there with love and support no matter what kind of mess we got into. She gave that same love and support as Grandma, too. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was the first to brag about their accomplishments. She was well on her way to lovingly spoiling her great-grandchildren. As an expression sympathy, if friends wish, donations may be made in Mildreds name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8. Mums body has been cremated and a service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, September 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. "Music notes playing...it is striking the way ... playing for me now" Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
