Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY SHUSHKEWICH (nee ZAYSHLEY) It is with extreme sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Shushkewich on Friday, September 17, 2004. Predeceased by her loving husband Roy in 1992 and her loyal companion Tyger in 2004. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Ken of Bellevue, WA, Brian (Krista) of Calgary and Sharon (Dave) of Winnipeg. Also left is the love of her life, her grandson Jack of Calgary and her brother Jim Zayshley of Winnipeg. The youngest of seven children, Mary was born on December 4, 1920 in Tadmore, SK. At an early age, Mary lost both parents and was forced to grow up on her own during the Great Depression. Her brother Peter and his wife Anne helped her greatly during this time. She persevered and her inner strength allowed her to become the successful, caring, kind-hearted and loving person she was. In 1943 she moved to Winnipeg and was employed at Palm Dairies for seven years. She also worked at Canada Packers and Modern Dairies and reminisced about the good times she had with her friends. In later years she worked as a cleaner for the office of Dr. Mollot and then doctors, Stackiw and Grenkow. The staff quickly became a part of Marys extended family. In 1949 she met Roy and they were married on June 17, 1950. She shared 42 beautiful loving years with Roy until his passing. Marys life was totally devoted to her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and never allowed a guest to leave her home with an empty stomach. All who knew her, loved her dearly. To love a Mom and then to part Is the greatest trial to the human heart. Years of striving, little of play Loving, giving, the whole of the way A cherished smile, a heart of gold To the dearest Mother the world could hold Happy memories fond and true From us who thought the world of you Beautiful memories are treasured forever Of happy days when we were together With aching hearts we whisper low, God Bless you Mom, well miss you so. Father in heaven, hear our prayer Guard our Mother with tender care. Be a good shepherd, dont leave her alone Love her as we loved her When she was at home. - From your children In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Marys memory to her grandson Jacks trust fund, transit 6460, account 6227145, TD Canada Trust.
