Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE TATARYN Peacefully on September 23, 2004, Maurice, beloved husband of 39 years of Lydia (Hruska) and father of Susan (Richard Cloutier), Lisa (Ernesto Espinosa) and Chris; grandfather of Ainsley, Meagan and Evan Cloutier. He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia in 1993. Maurice was born on May 9, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of four children born to the late Wasyl and Frances Tataryn. He was also predeceased by one brother, Walter. He is also survived by his brother Michael Tataryn (Sophie) and sister Elsie Orr and many nieces and nephews. At the age of 2, Maurice and his family moved back to St. Norbert where he lived his entire life surrounded by a loving family and many friends. He was an active member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and St. Vital Parish. Maurice cherished his time spent with his family and friends, whether it was with his family on their camping trips and time spent at Petersfield, or curling on Sunday evenings with the St. Norbert Curling League and golfing with his buddies. In his retirement years, he also enjoyed bowling with a senior bowling league. Maurice would greet and make everyone feel welcome with his generous and humourous outlook. He worked at both the family farm and the Canadian Grain Commission as a Grain Inspector and retired after 38 years of service in 1990. Maurice was a kind, gentle man who put the needs of his family and those in need before his own. Prayers will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Monday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church (Pembina & Manahan) with a celebration of his life to follow at Howden Community Centre on Red River Drive in St. Norbert. A private family interment will follow at a later date. The family gratefully declines flowers but donations may be made to St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, MB.
