SHIRLEY SAVAGE (nee RUZYCKI) Peacefully on September 26, 2004, at 1:15 a.m., our loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away comfortably at the St. Boniface Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish many memories are her husband Stan, son Colin, daughter Carla (Brian), grandson Matthew, brother Michael (Marilyn), sister Alice (Frank), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia and Dmytro, sister in infancy; sister-in-law Betty; and many other aunts and uncles. Shirley was born on October 3, 1938 in Portage La Prairie, resided in Winnipeg and was married to her husband Stan. She was blessed with her two children, Colin and Carla, and later on a son-in-law Brian and grandchild Matthew. Shirley retired in the year 2000, from St. Boniface Hospital as a senior ward clerk, a job she much loved, making many lasting friendships. She was a self-sacrificing person who gave up much of her own time to the benefits of others. She was very dedicated and lived according to her faith. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, music, the arts and most of all, the family gatherings and reunions. The family appreciates and thanks Dr. C. Olweny and staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care of Shirley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 425 Rosseau Ave. E., Transcona with Rev. Fr. Gerry Ward officiating. Entombment to follow in Assumption Chapel Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirleys memory to Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. "Some gifts you hold in your hand, Some you hold in your heart". Rest peacefully, our dear Angel. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
