Marie du Precieux-Sang) Peacefully, Sister Annie Trohak left this earth to join her family for everlasting joy, on Friday, September 24, 2004. She was 101 years old, 81 of which she spent as a religious of the Missionary Oblates of St. Boniface. Besides her religious community she leaves to mourn her departure, a number of nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Annie was born in Koposvar, SK, on July 26, 1903 from parents of Hungarian origin. Her father, Michel Trohak, was born in Jeka, Hungary, and her mother, Julia Stimics was also from Hungary. The four first children, three girls and one boy were born in Hungary. The family migrated to Saskatchewan where Annie was born. Two of her Sisters, Juliana and Barbara, preceded her in the Order of the Missionary Oblates of St. Boniface. Annie spent her childhood and youth with her family in Stockholm, SK. In January 1920, she joined the Missionary Oblate Sisters and took her first vows on November 4, 1922. From that day on she worked as head cook in a number of our institutions. When she ended her work as a cook, she took pleasure caring for plants and flowers for which she had a splendid green thumb. This allowed her to deepen her relationship with God. What a wonderful woman who was such an expert at receiving everyone with joy. We would like to sing for her The ballad of happy people! You have sowed happiness wherever you went. We are forever grateful to you. Prayers will be recited on Tuesday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Missionary Oblate Sisters, 601 Aulneau St. Funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the same address. Fr. Albert Bouffard, omi, will preside the celebration. Interment will take place in the cemetery on Archibald Street immediately after the funeral service.
