MARY STASKA Peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2004, at the Middlechurch Home, Mary Staska, at the age of 89, went to be with her Lord and Saviour and to be reunited with her husband Joseph, who passed away December 19, 1991. Mary was born on September 6, 1915, in Brooksby, SK, the oldest of six children. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lawrence (Karen), Fran (Ed) Kazuk, Margaret (Gerald) Monaster and Joe (Wilma) eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Peter, Carl, Bruno (Mary) and Rev. Fr. Stanley Urbanoski; sister Valerie Bleakney; and numerous other relatives. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Sophie Urbanoski; daughter-in-law Linda Staska; and brother-in-law Roy Bleakney. Mary worked for many years at the City of Winnipeg Transit until her retirement at age 65. She enjoyed cooking and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She was also actively involved in her church. A heartfelt thanks to the staff of Middlechurch Home and others who blessed her with visits. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 29, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Church, on Thursday, September 30, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Assumption Chapel Mausoleum Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marys memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
