MARY BOYCHUK (nee ZASITKO) February 17, 1916 - September 26, 2004 With her cousin Mary Skibinski at her bedside, peacefully mom passed away at the Fisher Personal Care Home on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the age of 88 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children, Bryan (Lara) of Whitehorse, NWT, Rod (Frances) of Sylvan Lake, AB, daughter Ruth (Bob) of Fisher Branch, MB; along with her grandchildren, Bryan, David, Gregg (Loretta) great-granddaughters, Laurie, Ashley and Emily; her sister Ruth Kicenko (Steve) of Poplarfield, MB; sisters-in-law, Mae Boychuk of Smithville, ON, Olga Williams of Winnipeg, Ann Boychuk of Fisher Branch and Josephine Boychuk of Winnipeg, MB; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her adopted daughter and good friends, Cindy Scott and Gavin Durst. Mom was predeceased by her husband Dmytro; parents, Wasylna and Fred Zasitko, Peter and Anna Boychuk; brothers, John and Harry (Ann) brothers-in-law, Bill, Mike, Bohdan (Josephine), John (Mae) and Steve (Olga) Williams. Born in High Plains, MB Mary moved to Fisher Branch with her husband Dmytro in 1937. She was a great mother and grandmother who loved children, loved her gardening and was a great cook. Mary was active in the Ukrainian National Home as treasurer and was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support to her family and friends in need. Special thanks to Dr. Cecile Andreas for her consciencous care and understanding and thanks also to the Fisher Personal Care Home staff for their care and support during moms final hours. Viewing and funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30 at the Fisher Funeral Home chapel in Fisher Branch with Rev. Wesley Barrett and Stephanie Hyde officiating. Interment will be at the Ukrainian Christian Congregation Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregg Davis, Bob Davis, John Bordynuik, Herb Williams, Bob (Robert) Boychuk and David Kicenko. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher Personal Care Home or the Fisher Handi-Van both of Fisher Branch, MB. Arrangements in care of the Fisher Funeral Home in Fisher Branch, MB.
