HAROLD MARTIN October 4, 1919 - September 26, 2004 With sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Harry Martin. Harold is survived by his two children, Jill and Jack (Tara) grandchildren, Jessie and Kelly Herzog, Adin and Brendan Martin. He is predeceased by his wife Ethel Jessie; and two granddaughters, Kristie Herzog and Breanne Martin. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg in the Elmwood area. At a young age, he enlisted with the army in the Second World War and was stationed in England. This is where he met the love of his life, Ethel Jessie Purser. They married in 1946 (England) and moved back to Winnipeg. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. Harry was an electrician by trade. He obtained his electrical contractor licence later in life. He worked in many different places, but the one job he most talked about was being the supervisor of maintenance for Deer Lodge Hospital. He was very proud to have been involved with the creation of Deer Lodge Centre. He retired in 1984. Harry loved life. Always the joker, he touched others with laughter and honesty. His hobbies included woodworking, fixing up his home and the Montreal Canadiens. Dad was always there to lend a helping hand to others. You will be missed Dad, Papa. We love you. Give Mom, Kristie and Breanne a big hug from all of us. "Papa, you will always be remembered and loved. Wear your yellow sweater with pride in heaven." Love, Jessie and Kelly The family would like to thank all his neighbours for the help throughout the years. He considered you all his friends. Also thank you to home care for their hard work and devotion to Dad. He loved seeing all of you. Cremation has taken place. No service will be held, at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
