FLORENCE MARY ELIZABETH STEEDS Born in Grace Hospital August 8, 1917. Died September 27, 2004 at Meadowood Manor. Mothers life and love was her family. Playing the piano was her passion. She was a very talented and dedicated pianist. She began playing for the choir in the Salvation Army church at age 12 and did so faithfully for 70 years. She also spent many happy years accompanying both the Winnipeg Japanese and Polish choirs and enjoying her many piano students. She is survived by daughters, Lynne (Rod) Macpherson and granddaughter Heather; Janet (Tom) Tittel and grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher; son Bill (Marsha) Steeds and grandchildren, Marcus, Ryan and Graham; and her sister Mrs. E. A. Thompson. Mom truly loved the Lord will all her heart and soul, and was a wonderful example to all of us. She has gone to be with God. Funeral service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Monday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. with Colonel Maxwell Ryan officiating. A private family burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, beside her parents, Major and Mrs. George Jones, in the Salvation Army plot.
