Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySLAVKO BRNJAS November 28, 1921 - September 28, 2004 Peacefully on September 28, 2004, Slavko, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed with his family by his side at the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82 years. Slavko is survived by his wife Jelka; his sons, Zeljko with his wife Zdenka and Joey both of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Anthony, Natalie, Anne-Marie, Jennifer, Danica and Amanda; sisters, Anna and Lorka of Croatia; and numerous other relatives throughout Canada and Europe. He was predeceased by his son Zlatko in 1992. Slavko was born in Bosiljevo, Croatia and came to Canada in 1957 looking for a better life for his family. They came to Canada in 1964. Slavko was a miner for most of his life. Slavko loved the outdoors and had a passion for his vegetable garden. In retirement he spent all his time at his cottage in Gimli. The family would like to thank Dr. Darcy Johnson and the staff of the Palliative Care Program. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Nicolas of Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main St. with Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Igor Lulic, Goran Lulic, Mike Smederovac, Anthony Brnjas, Steve Kovac and Mladen Zorica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Slavkos memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St. Our thoughts are with you Your place no one can fill In life we loved you dearly In death we love you still.
