Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM DEMERY May 20, 1920 - September 28, 2004 It is with heavy hearts, the family of William Demery announces his passing on September 28, 2004 at the age of 84 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side at the Palliative Care Centre in St. Boniface Hospital. Bill was predeceased by his parents, father Nestor in 1962 and mother Anna in 1977, sister Doris McMullen in 2004. Bill leaves to mourn his wife Olga of 58 years; son Gordon (Claire) Demery; daughters, Lorraine (Joe) Tymchen, Sharon (John) Perch; seven grandchildren, Brigette, Charlene, Nadine, Corrine, Jason, Kristal and Angela. He is also survived by two brothers, George (Dorothy) of California, Steve (Raffelina) of Winnipeg. Bill was born in Winnipeg and raised on the farm where he built his home and farmed there all his life. Off the farm he worked in a meat packing plant, worked with surveyors, C.P. Railway and Drabiks Implements. He even tried his hand as a bartender, but always came back to farming. He was also a natural Mr. Fix It. His hobby was his work. The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Centre in St. Boniface Hospital and doctors, nurses and staff of the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Prayers will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, October 3. Funeral service will be held in Komarno Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Peter Chorney will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Georges Cemetery. COME TO ME God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away, And although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest.
