JEANNE LaFRENIERE (nee LaPOINTE) Born in Transcona on November 13, 1916, daughter of Albert and Eliza LaPointe, passed away at Foyer Valade on September 30, 2004. She was an ardent defender of human rights and did not like to see herself, or anyone else, be taken advantage of. She was very devoted to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased by her beloved husband Emile (1985) sons-in-law, Laurent Roy and Robert Chicoyne and grandson Stephane Roy. She is survived by her children, Armand (Yvonne), Jeannette, Paul (Suzanne) and Michel (Heather Duckworth). She also leaves to mourn nine grandchildren, Louise, Raymond, Robert Roy (Connie), Ron Chicoyne (Jacquie), Paul Roy, Louis, Lise, Kim (Chris Isford), Jacqueline Roy (Peter Yates) seven great-grandchildren, Eric, Breanne, Griffin, Jakob, Anais, Elise and Tyler. Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Dolores Easton (John) in British Columbia, Rita Foot, Yvonne (Frank Foss) of Calgary, Pat (Ken Eppler) and brother Thomas LaPointe (Milton, ON) in-laws, Bella Letienne, Anna (Claude Joyal), Agnes Heatherington, Edouard, Jean, Albert O.M.I. and Maurice (Gisele) LaFreniere. Jeanne was predeceased by Cleophas O.M.I., Claude Letienne, William Kozielec, Jack Heatherington, Flore and Jean Tetrault, August and Therese Joyal, Aurore and Suzanne LaFreniere, Betty LaPointe and Edwin Foot. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Funeral service will be celebrated at Eglise du Precieux-Sang, 200 Kenny St. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and mass at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 5. Private interment will follow at a later date.
