TONY PANTELUK 1931 - 2004 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Tony passed away on September 30, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73. Tony is survived by his wife of 50 years Sheila; children, Shaunda (Gary Plohman), Michael, Kim (John Giesbrecht) nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Alec (Cecile) sisters, Marie, Rose, Kay, Betty (Harold Hearfield), Jean (Elmer Keryluk), Helen (Paul Blashko), Angie; sisters-in-law, Lil and Jean (Walter Biluke) mother-in-law Sigga Benediktson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Tina; brothers, John, Bill and infant Metro; brothers-in-law, Joe Capri, Steve Burack, Fred Warcimaga, Richard Jerris; and sister-in-law Alice Panteluk. Dad was born and raised on a farm in the Meleb area. He married Mom in 1953 and lived briefly in the Minerva area. They moved to Winnipeg where Dad, a mechanic by trade, worked for several years. In 1965, Mom and Dad moved back to the Minerva area to join his father-in-law in the family dairy operation. Farming was always Dads first love and even throughout the years in the city - he spent every opportunity working on the family farms and even helping out others. Dad took an active interest in the local area and served two terms as a councillor for the R.M. of Gimli. Dad always took pleasure in helping others and was always willing to lend a hand or a piece of equipment. Even after he stopped actively farming, he was always very interested in how the neighbours were doing - even this fall he was very concerned about the adverse harvest conditions. He loved his family and especially looked forward to visits by his grandchildren. Other interests that Dad had over the years included hunting, curling and following NHL hockey. At Tonys request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lutheran Church. Special thanks to Dr. Crusch and the staff of the MICU at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care. GILBART FUNERAL CHAPELS in care of arrangements.
