LUKE SANFORD SINCLAIR After a long and courageous struggle with emphysema, Luke Sinclair, aged 59, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at St. Josephs Hospital, Courtenay, BC. Luke was predeceased by his parents Horace and Mary Jane (Baily) Sinclair; brothers, Jacob, Garnet, Chris, Louie and sisters, Viola and Muriel. He is survived by his wife Florence; brothers, Harry and Oliver; and sister Margaret. He is also survived by his daughter Sandi (Wilson) and grandchildren, Dillon, Cal, Howard and Morning Starr. He also leaves to mourn nieces, nephews and beloved dog Eli. Luke was very proud of attaining his Chefs Certification in 1994. With that, he volunteered his services at cultural events and other organizational functions. We will always remember his tender smile and his love for his grandchildren. Luke loved watching sports and horse races. He loved sharing jokes and spending time with his friends and family. Luke believed in living life to the fullest and having a "damn good time". Luke was a member of the Peguis First Nation. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to eachother, That we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. A. Unknown A memorial service to be held at the Indian Family Centre, 470 Selkirk Ave., Saturday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Chapel Lawn at a later date.
