WILLIAM BRUCE (BILL) SWAN William Bruce (Bill) Swan aged 69 years passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 28, 2004. Bill was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. Moving to Kenora in 1967 and then to Thunder Bay in 1979. Bill was an active member of the Masonic Order belonging to Shuniah Lodge No. 287, Superior Lodge of Perfection, Nanna Bijou Chapter Rose Croix, North Star Consistory and having been raised to the level of 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Bill had just completed his term as Commander in Chief of North Star Consistory. Bill was the presiding Worthy Patron of Argyle Chapter No. 10 Order of the Eastern Star, past Grand Warder Grand Chapter of Ontario in the Maple Leaf year. Bill was a member of Khartoum Shrine, Past President of the Lakehead Shrine Club (1999), Lakehead Shrine Circus Manager 2000 - 2003. Bill was an avid curler, in retirement belonging to the EZDUZIT curling club out of Thunder Bay Country Club. His love of sports made him a fixture at local ballparks and arenas enjoying both pro and amateur games alike. Bill is survived by his wife Arlene; sons, Bob (Leslie) grandchildren, Justina and Jillian; Bruce (Lori) grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew; twin brother David (Beverly) of Winnipeg; nephews, Ken (Leila), Andrew (Tamsin) and their children, Rhiannon and Catriona also of Winnipeg. Funeral services for the late Mr. Bill Swan will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Westfort Chapel, 420 Gore St. West at James, with Rev. Canon John Jordan officiating. Memorial services under the auspices of the Order of the Eastern Star Argyle Chapter No. 10 and the Masonic Lodge AF & AM Shuniah No. 287 will be held in conjunction with the funeral service. Visitation for family and friends was in the Chapel on Friday, October 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald house or Sick Childrens Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
