Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGURETTA "JOAN" THACKER (nee McLAY) Marguretta "Joan" Thacker (nee McLay) passed away peacefully September 28, 2004. Joan was born in Winnipeg on February 6, 1922 and lived most of her life in St. James with some time as an army wife in Dawson Creek B.C. and Regina Sask. She lived the latter part of her life as a senior at 125 Carriage Road and made many friends there. Joan lived for her family and will be missed. Joan was predeceased by her brothers, Stan "Red" McLay and Elmer McLay; and sisters, Audrey Watts & Eva Park. She is survived by her children, Danny Roy (Linda) of Winnipeg, Dwight Blair (Barbara) of Florida and Dale "Brenda" (Gary) Wade of Calgary. Also left to mourn are her Granddaughters Tracy "Elizabeth" Kramer, Wendy Peter, Debbie Trowski, Bonnie Thacker, Deanna Valeri and Shaylene Wade., Grandsons James Thacker and Kenneth Thacker. Also five great grandchildren with one more on the way. The family wish to thank the staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home for their diligent and thoughtful care of Joan over the past year. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, at Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army as Joan was one of their strong supporters over the years. Mom, we miss you and you will always be in our hearts.
